Jane Alexander
I learned about this amazing South African artist in the November issue of Juxtapoz. Her work is really dark and gritty, but so subtle. Her work is really reflective of her own views on art and on her own art. She typically won't talk about her work, but it doesn't seem necessary, it's just so dense and skillfully executed. Typically Juxtapoz interviews the artists they feature, but Alexander wouldn't give an interview. I feel saying anything else is a disservice to the way her work is to be experienced (being in the room itself.) I'll leave you with a link to a google image search, I can't find a website for her. If you dig her stuff keep your ear to the ground and try and catch one of her installations.
