Sound Walk Aug 27

In Class Activity: Listen to the world with an attentive and creative mind. Do not talk. Pay full attention to sound in each space, movement through space and the qualities of the sounds you are hearing. Try not to label the source of the sounds but rather describe the sounds by their qualities. take into account the 'sound object', or the qualities of the sound space, source and your location in relation to the sound source.

Notice quiet sounds and quiet spaces, layers of sound, reverb, diffusion, sounds that stop and start, continuous sounds, ambient noise, human sounds, mechanical sounds, meaning and emotional responses to sound and space.

Collaborative Sound Based Project: In groups of 3, you will create a short, imaginative project that in some way explores sound. Due September 17.
